Mixing bowls are a major player in my kitchen. I have at least three full sets, and an individual bowl or two I like to use for primarily prepping and cooking veggies. They come in six main materials: plastic, glass, stainless steel, copper, ceramic, and silicone. The right choice depends on your cooking needs (mixing cake batter, melting chocolate over a double boiler, reheating pulled chicken before mixing it into a chicken salad) and how easy they are to clean.
